Apple Watch Ultra 3 leaked: Coming with a larger screen

Apple May Be Quietly Preparing a Major Upgrade for the Apple Watch Ultra 3

Apple seems to be subtly working on a noteworthy update for its upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3, expected to be unveiled this September. While the overall design may remain consistent with its predecessor, the new model is likely to bring meaningful changes in screen size and internal features.

A Slightly Larger Display on the Way

References found in the developer beta of iOS 26 suggest a new screen resolution of 422 x 514 pixels (335 ppi), which does not match any current Apple Watch. In comparison, the existing Apple Watch Ultra 2 features a resolution of 410 x 502 pixels (also 335 ppi). This indicates Apple may be moving from a 1.93-inch to a 1.98-inch display — a modest yet noticeable increase.

This approximate 3% size bump is expected to be achieved without altering the overall dimensions of the watch body. Instead, Apple may have reduced the bezel size to allow for a more immersive viewing experience without compromising the watch’s compact form factor.

Key Hardware Improvements Expected

Rumors suggest that Apple is introducing more than just a bigger screen. One of the standout features could be satellite messaging support, enabling communication even in areas with no Wi-Fi or cellular coverage — a game-changer for users in remote or emergency situations.

The Ultra 3 may also adopt LTPO3 display technology, offering broader viewing angles and improved energy efficiency. In addition, support for 5G RedCap, blood pressure monitoring, and the integration of Apple’s next-generation S10 or possibly even S11 chipsets are all reportedly on the table.
