Battlefield 6 Open Beta Breaks Series Record With Over 334,000 Concurrent Players
Electronic Arts’ highly anticipated Battlefield 6 is already smashing records ahead of its October 10, 2025 release. The open beta, which began on August 7, drew 334,549 concurrent players on Steam during early access—setting the highest player count in franchise history, according to SteamDB.
This figure doubled the peak from Battlefield 2042’s 2021 beta and tripled the full launch player count for that game. The surge has made Battlefield 6 the most popular Battlefield title ever on Steam, climbing to 38th place on the platform’s all-time charts, ahead of major releases like Elden Ring: Nightreign, Starfield, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. It’s also the first modern Battlefield to reach such a milestone.
The open beta runs for all players from August 9–10, with a second session scheduled for August 14–17. Battlefield 6 will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
